CNI 15th Annual Golf Classic
On July 14th, 2014, the CNI 15th Annual Golf Classic took place at the Golf Club at Bear Dance. The event was the most successful CNI tournament yet. The day started off wonderfully with the sun shining bright and beautiful views of Larkspur, CO. This was the first year CNI sold out two full flights!
Tournament highlights included 30 supportive volunteers, a welcome from Jim Benemann from CBS4, Oakley sunglasses for a contest prize, and a hole in one car from John Elway Chevrolet.
Most of the planning committee was made up of CNI patients. CNI patients try to overcome their neurological conditions by being active and participating in sports such as golf. In a video segment from 9News, one of CNI’s patients, Margaret, explains how playing golf can help her Parkinson’s. She described how Parkinson’s makes her body and limbs feel small, but golf helps counteract that feeling.
“It was a great day, created by an amazing committee of volunteer planners. We could not have asked for better turnout and we are grateful to a multitude of generous donors and friends who helped us raise significant funds for our neurological patients,” said Tami Lack, Executive Director at CNI.
This year’s tournament raised more than $45,000. Without fundraisers such as the CNI Golf Classic, CNI would not be able to offer a resource center for individuals facing neurological conditions.
