Stroke Advisory Board
Colorado Stroke Advisory Board Issues Reports
Dr. Don Smith, Medical Director of the CNI Stroke Program,
and other experts on the Colorado Stroke Advisory Board have issued a
report entitled "The Colorado Acute Stroke Network Experience
With r-tPA in Acute Ischemic Stroke." The report concludes that
patients with acute ischemic stroke treated in a variety of settings had
outcomes similar to the NINDS trial. These data suggest that the results
of the NINDS trial can be generalized to other practice settings, including
suburban and rural community hospitals.
The Stroke Advisory Board has also issued a report to the
Colorado Legislature titled “Survivors of the Fight: Stroke in
Colorado.”
