What is the Colorado Neurological Institute?
The Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI)—the largest, most comprehensive
neuroscience center in the Rocky Mountain Region—is a membership-based
collaboration of more than 70 world-class neuroscientists. Founded as
a nonprofit in 1988, CNI offers the highest quality, most advanced and
comprehensive care to patients with neurological disease.
Where is CNI located?
CNI is located at 701 E. Hampden Avenue, Suite 330, Englewood, Colo.,
80110-2776, on the campus of Swedish Medical Center.
How does a neuroscientist get accepted as a member of CNI?
A physician must submit an application for approval by the CNI Medical
Advisory Board and CNI Community Board; he or she must be affiliated with
neurology, and be an active staff member of Swedish Medical Center.
Is CNI part of Swedish Medical Center?
No. CNI is nonprofit organization which, although it partners with Swedish
Medical Center, is a completely separate entity.
What does CNI provide?
CNI’s multi-disciplinary teams of neuroscientists provide the full range
of patient care—from diagnosis to treatment to rehabilitation and recovery—conduct
innovative clinical trials, and create educational programs for the community
and other medical professionals throughout the region.
What defines a quality care "program"?
It is a program that must exhibit a comprehensive team approach, education,
research and clinical trials, outcomes monitoring, and outreach to the
public.

Do I call the CNI main number to schedule an appointment with a CNI
neurologist?
No. To schedule an appointment with a CNI neurologist, it is necessary
to call the neurologist’s office directly; however, you may call CNI for
referral to a physician.
Does CNI’s research involve clinical trials?
Research provides patients with neurological disease access to important
clinical trials testing promising new drug therapies and surgical techniques.
CNI physicians work directly with hospital staff and other specialists
to evaluate potential clinical trials and educate patients and their family
members about every available treatment option.
