CNI NeuroTrauma Center

The Neurotrauma Center, which opened at CNI in 2004, offers early intervention and secondary prevention services to patients with mild closed-head injuries and spinal trauma. Early intervention is essential to reducing long-term symptoms and, by rapidly assessing a patient's injuries, doctors can quickly determine the most effective treatment options for recovery. Medical Director of the CNI NeuroTrauma Center is J. Paul Elliott, MD.

In 2005, the CN NeuroTrauma Center:

  • Organized patient treatment protocols in concert with the Trauma Service at Swedish Medical Center.
  • Acquired new state-of-the-art brain monitors for measuring intracranial pressure and brain oxygenation to better guide treatment.
  • Continued research looking at protein expression in the central nervous system following traumatic brain injury.
  • Continued collection of outcome data.

Use the menu options above to learn more about diagnosis, treatments, support and education for brain, head and spinal injury. The statistics shown here are staggering...learn ways to prevent traumatic brain and spinal injuries.
