On Monday, July 29th, Kris Lasswell, 35, a fire fighter with West Metro Fire Rescue, had the good fortune to achieve a hole in one on a hole sponsored by John Elway Chevrolet at Colorado Golf Club during the CNI Golf Classic. Lasswell was filling in for an individual the day of the event. He played with three other gentlemen from Calcon Construction. Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI) is pleased to award Laswell $10,000.
For an entire day after making his amazing shot, Lasswell was in a state of complete disbelief. He remembers standing in the light rain during the tournament with a rainbow in the background when he swung. In his mind he thought “this is my destiny.” A comical character, Lasswell is already the topic of talk around the fire station.
As a firefighter and paramedic, Lasswell was already familiar with CNI’s mission to support individuals facing neurological conditions through research, patient services and education. Once he receives his prize money, he plans on donating a portion to CNI’s cause.
“As a fire fighter and paramedic, I interact with individuals with neurological conditions. My brother in law also had a stroke in his 30’s. I plan on giving back to CNI,” says Lasswell.
Lasswell is the father of two little girls who are five and almost three. He plans on taking his wife and children on a nice vacation in 2014.
The funds raised from this event will allow CNI to continue to support patients facing Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Brain and Spinal Tumors, Stroke, Hearing Disorders, Huntington’s Disease and other neurological conditions.
