Meet our 2017 Honorees:
Farewell to Don Johnson
CNI lost a faithful advocate and Denver lost a true community champion and generous philanthropist this past fall. Join us at our annual gala on March 10th as we honor and remember one of Denver’s icons, Don Johnson. Under the leadership and ownership of Don (and now his sons), Johnson Storage & Moving Company has been a landmark business in this region for well over a century. CNI is honored to have Arlene Johnson as our honorary chair for the event, making this a truly memorable evening.
Anne is a Registered Nurse and Stroke Survivor who has been active in patient support, education, research and more. She now teaches “Coping with your Neurological Condition” at CNI, among other pursuits and is a mentor and advocate for stroke survivors throughout the region.
Bradley J. Buhler, P. E.
Brad is a professional engineer, now disabled due to a rapidly progressing form of Multiple Sclerosis. He has faced this life changing condition with dignity and grace. He stays active with his children, within the community and is a favorite at the CNI NeuroHealth Center.
“Anything Can Happen” Award
Celebrating the accomplishments and inspiration of four cochlear implant children who have grown into promising young adults. Congratulations to Sophia Schlager, Cydney Rivas, Garrett Pattee and Sam Roiz – all high school seniors who met 15 years ago at one of CNI’s first cochlear kids camps, shortly after they were implanted as toddlers. Now life-long friends, they are an inspiration to children across the country who are dealing with hearing deficits.
