Who overseas Colorado Gives Day?

Community First Foundation, a community foundation serving metro Denver, created the initiative in 2010 with the financial support of Colorado-based FirstBank.

How do I make a donation?

1)You can make your donation today over the phone or through Coloradogives.org.
2)From any page on the site you can search for CNI by name. After selecting CNI, select “Donate Now” from our profile.
3)Although ColoradoGives.org features Colorado nonprofits, residents from any location who have Internet access can donate online.

What methods of payment can I use?

You can donate with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express) or the information from a bank account (personal checking, business checking, or savings). Please note that while you may use or purchase Giving eCards on Colorado Gives Day, they will not count toward any prizes or incentive monies.

Please note these are the only forms of payment available on ColoradoGives. You cannot make donations using stock gifts or donor advised funds.

Do I need to create an account in order to donate?

You do not need to create an account on ColoradoGives.org to donate.

What is the Minimum donation?

You can make a donation as small as $10

Is there a Maximum donation?

No, but donations of $100,000 or more cannot be processed through ColoradoGives.org by credit card or electronic check, and will need to be conducted as wire transfers. Please contact Mike Jackson at 303.242.6860 or mjackson@CommunityFirstFoundation.org for assistance.

What is a recurring Donation?

A recurring donation is a feature that allows you to make automated, online donations on a regular schedule. You can schedule daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual recurring donations for a specific amount.

Can I donate to more than one charity?

Yes. You can donate to as many non-profits as you would like.

Is my donation tax deductable?

Yes. All donations made to the 501(c)(3) charities featured on ColoradoGives.org are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law.

Will my donation incur a processing fee?

No. Thanks to the generous contributions of Community First Foundation, FirstBank and other organizations, all third-party processing fees will be covered.

What percentage of my donation will go toward administrative expenses for CNI?

We spend 16% on administrative fees, well under the national average. Nonprofit times in 2012 recommended 23% for a healthy percentage.

Why on Colorado Gives Day?

Every dollar donated to CNI on Colorado Gives Day will be increased through the FirstBank $250,000 incentive fund. This fund is proportionately distributed over all donations made on December 10, 2013.

Can I mail in my contribution?

You can mail a contribution to CNI, just know that your mailed donation will NOT count as a Colorado Gives Day donation.

Is this something I can attend?

Colorado Gives day is strictly an online giving event. If you are interested in participating in an actual event, come support CNI at the State Capitol rally on December 10, 2013.

How is the donation applied?

Donating to CNI on December 10th provides support to areas of greatest need, such as care for the uninsured and underinsured, new equipment, staff training, and development of a specific program or area.

Will I get a receipt?

We will send you a receipt by the end of the week.

Who is CNI?

Founded in 1988, CNI a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit is dedicated to enhancing state-of-the-art comprehensive care to individuals with neurological conditions through coordinated research, patient services, and education. CNI is the only neuroscience center of its kind in the Rocky Mountain Region; partnering with distinguished member physicians to provide comprehensive care for a full spectrum of neurological conditions encompassing stroke, movement disorders and brain and spinal tumors, and many more.

What is Colorado Gives Day?

Colorado Gives Day is an initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day will take place during a 24-hour period on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Donations will be accepted through ColoradoGives.org, with a goal to inspire and unite Coloradans in supporting local nonprofits.

Can I give to a designated cause?

You may give to any cause you see fit. We encourage general donations in order to better distribute funds throughout the organizations programs.

Can I schedule a donation for a different day?

You can schedule your donation for any time, however, those donations will NOT count for a Colorado Gives Day Contribution.
