Tumors (Embolization)
Prior to the surgical resection of a tumor, embolization can be used to significantly reduce or eliminate the blood supply to the tumor. This procedure results in shorter surgeries, decreased blood loss and diminished transfusion requirements. Juvenile angiofibromas, glomus tumors, meningiomas, and other vascular tumors of the head and neck, brain and spinal column are all potentially strong candidates for this neurointerventional therapy.
