The CNI NeuroHealth Center participates in clinical research for neurological patients, recruiting from our own populations in the clinic. Examples of our research include:
In the summer of 2009, the NeuroHealth Center participated in a feasibility study, “Spring Loaded Assistive Devices for Body Weight Supported Treadmill Training in Post Stroke Patient.” Benefits to the community: Trial a spring loaded device to assist stroke patients with walking while using a body weight supported treadmill with their therapist.
In the fall of 2008, we participated in a multi-site study, “Qualitative Study for PRO Development For Post-Stroke Limb Spasticity,” The purpose of the study was to create an improved tool for patients with post stroke limb spasticity to use to describe their spasticity in conjunction pharmaceutical trials designed to impact spasticity. Benefits to the community: Improve and standardize the language used in other studies to describe spasticity.
