CNI Movement Disorders Center
Patient Care
Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)
The CNI Movement Disorders Center offers deep brain stimulation (DBS) therapy to patients through the CNI William McK. & Marcia N. Thompson Restorative Neurosurgery Program. We have the longest and most extensive record performing DBS in the Rocky Mountain region, with over 13 years of experience.
Through CNI, DBS therapy is offered frequently to patients with disabling symptoms of Parkinson's disease, tremor and dystonia. We hold a monthly multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinic where all prospective DBS patients are carefully evaluated prior to surgery. All patients also undergo pre-operative cognitive assessment. Each team member meets individually with the patient and family and then the team gathers as a whole to discuss treatment and post-operative care.
