Outreach & Support

Teen Thing

The CNI Teen Thing support group offers a variety of events and activities for hearing-impaired youth in the local community. Underwritten by private and corporate contributions, these opportunities for young people to gather, have fun and learn from each other are invaluable.

Rebuilding Together

The teens frequently participate in "Rebuilding Together" projects--a program that aids low-income senior citizens with repairs and painting in their homes. On one of our projects, we had a total of 15 teens and adults participating in painting inside a house to make it beautiful and help to brighten up the rooms. The homeowner was very pleased with our enthusiasm and results to upgrade her home. Her house really needed some painting and we were more then willing to help.

These tasks cannot be accomplished without the teens and adults who come to be part of this project. You can see and feel that it is very important to everyone working, to give a part of themselves to help someone else. That feeling of helping someone, who really deserved to have this project, makes everyone feel proud to accomplish it. In turn, I am proud to have such a caring and gifted team. Thanks to all for making this so wonderful and inspiring.
