He is the Medical Director of the CNI Center for Hearing and the CNI Rocky Mountain Cochlear Implant Center (RMCIC).
Dr. Kelsall has played a role in clinical trials leading to FDA approval of current cochlear implants on the market and the Vibrant Soundbridge implantable hearing aid, and has established CNI as a regional training center in cochlear implant surgery for physicians from North and South America. As Medical Director of the World Hearing Network, he leads teams of volunteer physicians to developing countries where they perform surgeries, provide hearing aids, and train local physicians to help alleviate hearing loss and diseases of the ear. In 2001, Dr. Kelsall established the annual CNI Cochlear Kids Camps. Dr. David Kelsall Wins Sertoma's Service To Mankind Award The Centennial Airport Area Sertoma Club named CNI Center for Hearing's Medical Director, Dr. David Kelsall, as the recipient of their Service to Mankind Award. This prestigious award is given annually for outstanding community service performed by a non-Sertoman on a volunteer basis.
Dr. Kelsall was recognized for the countless charitable programs he has launched and which he actively runs for the local, regional, national and international hearing impaired communities. These wonderful services include the CNI Cochlear Kids Camps, the Cochlear Implant Assistance Program, the CNI Teen Thing, and the World Hearing Network. All of these programs are real-world demonstrations of Dr. Kelsall's commitment to "helping to end the silence." We salute you, Dr. Kelsall, for your spirit of giving and for the work that you do!!!! Audiologist Allison Biever Receives Hands & Voices Awards Allison Biever, Au.D., CCC-A, of the Rocky Mountain Cochlear Implant Center, was awarded the Families First Award at the Colorado Symposium on Deafness, Language and Learning. Dr. Biever was nominated by families who cited her ongoing efforts to provide social opportunities for teens and youth who have cochlear implants. These events have expanded to include any in this age group who are deaf or hard of hearing. The joy of watching the kids learn to accept their communication diversity as they meet and socialize with each other has become the hallmark of the "Teen Thing."
Allison has also been instrumental in the Cochlear Implant Kids Camps sponsored by Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI), and her many accomplishments have been lauded by Colorado AG Bell. In addition to these endeavors, Allison regularly works with families and their children of all ages in her role as an audiologist. Allison humanizes this very "medical" experience, befriending parents and kids alike with her passion for what she does and her easy-going, child- and family-centered manner. Congratulations, Allison Biever, and thank you for the important work you do!
Allison Biever Honored by AG Bell The Colorado Chapter of AG Bell presented Allison Biever with the LaFawn Biddle Award for Outstanding Service. Allison was recognized because of her passion as a pediatric audiologist. She is an exceptional audiologist who meets the needs of her patients who either wear hearing aids or cochlear implants. Allison is an awesome listener and provides a smile and support to her patients and families. She is willing to spend hours working on technical problems and even arranged equipment loans so a young client could wear a CI BTE model for a homecoming dance instead of her bulky body worn processor. Allison has been a leader in helping to organize the AG Bell / CNI teens. She has worked with Linda Ellis and Ken Klaus to set up social activities and community service projects for the teens with young adult mentors who are deaf/hard of hearing.
