The Charlie Wolf Lasting Legacy Ride is in memory of Charlie Wolf, a good friend of the CNI Center for Brain & Spinal Tumors, and in recognition of the support of Charlie's family (wife Kathy and family pictured above). Your participation in the Charlie Wolf Lasting Legacy Ride at E-Rock will help support such patient services as research development, the HeartStrings program, and numerous other patient support services, including Healing Services and the Patient & Family Support Group.
If you are interested in joining Team CNI for the 2012 Charlie Wolf Lasting Legacy Ride, please contact Lorre Gibson at 303.806.7420 or by e-mail, or feel free to download our registration form. CNI is a 501 (3) (c) non-profit and monies collected are deductible as allowed by law.
CNI's Connection to E-Rock
The Subaru Elephant Rock Cycling Festival was founded 23 years ago by Scot Harris. Scot's sister, Jil, was diagnosed with a low-grade malignant brain tumor 12 years ago. Jil's surgeon was a CNI member physician and she underwent follow-up care with renowned neuro-oncologist Ed Arenson, MD, medical director of the CNI Center for Brain & Spinal Tumors.
Grateful for the care she had received at CNI, Jil approached her brother, Scot, about helping support Dr. Arenson and his team, who had been participating in E-Rock for a few years and had raised $68,000 for the CNI Center for Brain & Spinal Tumors. Since that time, Scot has generously given 100 E-Rock entries to CNI, allowing the Center for Brain & Spinal Tumors to keep all of the entry money for research, the Heartstrings program, and many other patient support services.
Like Scot, Susie Wargin has a personal tie to CNI. The 2010 E-Rock marked Susie's third year of serving as community chair of Team CNI. Last year, Susie's husband was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor, and they found a strong support network through CNI.
