About CNI
Focus Areas
Patient Care & Rehabilitation CNI offers a unique resource to patients and their families who are living with neurological conditions by providing centralized access to a full continuum of care and resources. Our programs and services bring together teams of specialists from a wide range of medical disciplines, including neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, radiation oncology, neurology, neuropsychology, physiatry, social work, rehabilitation therapy, nursing and patient navigation. In addition to resulting in better clinical outcomes and greater overall patient quality-of-life satisfaction, this unique collaborative approach allows physicians to share their knowledge, ideas and experiences with the latest advances in the neurosciences. CNI’s integrated, multi-disciplinary teamwork not only encourages progress, but also helps ensure that new insights are applied to ongoing patient care.
Research The CNI research team works toward the advancement of new treatments and capabilities for patients with neurological conditions. CNI participates in clinical trials of potentially beneficial drugs, surgical treatments, devices and therapies. Such opportunities, which are not available at most health care facilities, often provide patients with the only options for potential improvement of their condition. This work also contributes to advances in the medical treatment of neurological disorders. CNI also explores opportunities to enhance our programs and services by monitoring clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, quality-of-life, cost-efficiency and overall quality of the neurological services we provide.
Education CNI provides educational opportunities for patients, community members, physicians and other medical professionals from across the Rocky Mountain region through a combination of medical publications, community education series, professional lecture series and public events. We have also enhanced communication within the medical and local communities to educate individuals about prevention and available treatment options for a wide range of conditions that affect the lives of thousands every year.
Outreach CNI provides a valuable link to information and services for rural and outlying communities through outreach efforts that include clinics, consultations, services and educational programs for health care professionals. CNI neurological specialists and others travel to rural areas throughout the Rocky Mountain region to conduct specialty clinics and assist with recruitment efforts to secure neurological and neurosurgical support. CNI also offers assistance directly to patients and their families who are far from home through our Patient Assistance Program.
